2Pac's Murder Might Finally Be Solved After Nearly 22 Years

One of rap's biggest murder mysteries might finally be resolved.

In September of 1996, the world was rocked by the murder of one of the biggest rappers in the game, when West Coast star 2Pac (real name Tupac Shakur) was fatally shot in a drive-by at the age of 25.

But what is most dumbfounding about the incident is that, nearly 22 years later, his murderer/s have never been found.

This week, a Las Vegas TV station, KNTV, is reporting that an arrest for the alleged murderer of Tupac is imminent after an anonymous source disclosed that the case had been re-opened.

It's suggested that the case was reviewed due to an interview that an imprisoned man, Duane Keith Davis, gave in the 2018 BET mini-series about Tupac's murder, Death Row Chronicles.

Davis claims in the series he's ready to finally tell the truth about his involvement in the murder, because he has cancer and nothing else to lose.

Davis alleges he was in the front seat of a Cadillac responsible for the drive-by, and that the shots that killed Tupac came from the back seat of the vehicle. He named his nephew, Orlando Anderson, as one of two males in the back, but refused to reveal the identity of the other male, who he suggests could also have been the shooter. His nephew, Anderson, who has since died, had been assaulted by Tupac after a scuffle broke out earlier that evening following a boxing match.

The Las Vegas Police have told The Hollywood Reporter (THR) that an imminent arrest due to this information isn't entirely true.

"We are aware of the statements made in a BET interview regarding the Tupac case. As a result of those statements, we have spent the last several months reviewing the case in its entirety," Las Vegas police officials told THR.

"Various reports that an arrest warrant is about to be submitted are inaccurate. This case still remains an open homicide case."

So, while the police deny any imminent plans to arrest a shooter, the world might finally be a few steps closer to finally finding out who shot Tupac and why.

After that, maybe we can draw our attention to who killed Notorious B.I.G., a former friend and later enemy of Tupac, who was shot in similar circumstances just six months and two days later.
