10 Hilarious Tweets From Melburnians About This Morning's Earthquake

At times like these, all you can do is laugh.

If things in Australia couldn’t get any more chaotic, this morning, Melbourne woke up to a 6.0 magnitude earthquake, so does this mean the end is near?

No, the end is not near, but we wouldn’t blame people if they thought it was.

VicSES said the quake—which started at 9:15 am AEST—was 10km deep and the epicentre of it was near Mansfield Victoria, almost 200 km from Melbourne, with a 4.0 magnitude aftershock happening in the same location at 9:33 am AEST.

Is anyone else frantically going through the recesses of their mind to remember what they learnt about natural disasters and earthquakes? I am. Just weave the words ‘tectonic plates’ into any conversation and you’ll sound like an expert.

Residents living in NSW, ACT, Adelaide and Tasmania also reported feeling tremors which is absolutely wild!

Thankfully, there have been no reports of death or injury so far, but property damage across the state has been reported with Chapel Street in Melbourne CBD incurring significant damage.

One thing that has remained intact though is the people of Victoria’s sense of humour, so to mark this earth-shaking occasion, here are the 10 funniest Tweets from Melburnians about the earthquake.
