Welcome to Student Edge.
We are the largest member-based organisation of high school, TAFE, VET and university students in Australia.
Student Edge was started in 2003 by four students from Willetton Senior High School in Perth who recognised the gap between the school curriculum and essential life skills not taught in classrooms.
Of particular concern was the pressure placed on students to choose the subjects that would determine their career pathway—at 15—with little support besides a 600-page career profile book.
In addition, Student Edge was founded to help students stretch their allowances further in the face of rising costs of living.
A website was built with the sole aim of helping students navigate their way through student life and better prepare them for adulthood, with no hidden or political agendas. How about we let our founders tell the rest of the story?
In short, Student Edge exists to help students.
By allowing students to form and feel part of a larger collective, Student Edge is able to harness the power of the student community to support each other and give Australia's youth an advantage.
Student Edge is well known for its amazing discounts which can be redeemed upon presentation of the Student Edge app or discount card.
But Student Edge does so much more than that.
