Spotify’s New Only You Feature Is Low-Key Roasting Music Lovers

Spotify’s New Only You Feature Is Low-Key Roasting Music Lovers

Here's how to access it.

Overnight, Spotify launched their new Only You feature, and listeners everywhere are feeling attacked in the best way possible.

The new feature from the music streamer is all about celebrating how you listen, highlighting what makes your listening habits unique in an Insta stories-like presentation. It's pretty similar to Spotify Wrapped.

To use the Only You feature, just jump into the search page of your Spotify and tap the Only You banner.

Here’s what kind of stories Spotify will show you.

Your artist pairs.

Pairs shows how diverse (or chaotic) your music taste is. For example, for me, it says, "Who else would play Kings of Leon right after jamming out to Miley Cyrus?"

What? “See You Again” is a bop and I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise.

Your dream dinner party.

Dinner Party asks you to choose three artists you’d invite to—you guessed it—a dinner party. Once you’ve made that decision, Spotify creates a Spotify Mix to set the mood for the meal.

Queen, Flight of the Conchords and Lil Nas X. This party is gonna go off.

Your audio birth chart.

Spotify are calling this one a “musical meeting of cosmic proportions,” with different signs meaning various things.

The sun sign is the artist you listened to the most in the last six months. Your moon sign is an artist that represents your emotional or vulnerable side, and your rising sign is an artist you’ve recently connected with.

Wow, that got deep. I ain’t sharing my results for that.

Your song year.

This one is super simple: how far have you travelled throughout history for the music you like? For me, only I would travel from 1966 to 2021.

Your time of the day.

Time of day helps you learn what you like listening to at what time of day.

Your genres/topics.

Finally, wrap up the Only You experience with the music genres that makes your choices so you.

All of these stories are shareable and users on Twitter have pointed out that it feels like Spotify are being super passive aggressive with the new feature.

Here’s some of the best reactions we could find.
